They say that buying your first home can be one of the more stressful experiences that a person will go through. We raised the bar on stress when we decided to find and purchase our home while living and working in South Korea.

We were both drawn to Atlanta based on a show that we watched on television that convinced us both that we would achieve the quality of life we were looking for on our return trips home. The one obstacle was that neither one of us knew Atlanta well and did not have many people to guide us in terms of what would be suitable for us and our lifestyle. We contacted a long-standing friend and asked if she knew of a Real Estate Agent that we could contact and without hesitation she introduced us to Michael Cody.

It was clear that finding and selling a home to us was not going to be simple but Michael took on the challenge and with three days notice, we arrived in Atlanta with 36 hours available to explore our options. Our first day was exploring neighborhoods and by the afternoon we knew that Old Fourth Ward was were we wanted to live. By 9am the next morning we were looking at lofts and condos in the area. We found the condominium building we loved but sadly not fortunate enough to have our first offer accepted. We boarded our flight fully confident that Michael would find our future home despite the fact that we were heading back to Seoul.

Michael was tireless in his efforts which finally brought us to that call in late December letting us know that a condo in the building we had our hearts set on, was being listed for sale early in the new year. No time was wasted and Michael moved quickly to get our offer in and accepted. Within 5 weeks, we closed on our new home site unseen. This was possible for one reason and one reason only – trust. Michael’s ability to understand his clients and superior communication skills resulted in building an unsurpassed level of trust.

Michael’s experience living in Asia helped him understand the importance of timely communication impacted by the time zones we were working within. He drove the process and reminded all relevant stakeholders of turning things around quickly. A truly seamless experience for everyone involved…

This week we moved into our new home. We walked through the door to find a move-in ready condominium. Michael went above and beyond what we would have ever expected. From helping us to select paint colors, facilitating the painting along with fixing and cleaning before we even arrived in Atlanta. He spent valuable time waiting for deliveries and made sure everything was properly installed. Each step of the way, he made sure we were part of the experience through the use of iPhones, email, video and photographs.

What was supposed to be a stressful life experience was nothing at all like that. Michael made this experience one to remember…
