‘Invasion: Christmas Carol’ by Dad’s Garage returns this December
By Mary Margaret Stewart, assistant editor
From Dec. 1 through Dec. 30, “Invasion: Christmas Carol” will be back on the Dad’s Garage Theatre Company stage, located at 569 Ezzard Street SE in Atlanta. Shows are set for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights at 8 p.m. throughout the month of December.
Creative Loafing readers voted “Invasion: Christmas Carol” as Best Play in 2017. Dad’s Garage calls it a “hybrid improv-scripted show” that’s “more risqué than when the Muppets took on Scrooge.”
In a recent press release, the theater company said, “Watch our cast of actors try to perform the traditional Christmas Carol while still trying to deal with the one improviser running around stage causing havoc. It is a beautiful disaster that you’re not going to want to miss.”
Dad’s Garage Theatre Company consists of more than 300 performers and volunteers in order to entertain over 33,000 viewers in Atlanta each year with improv and scripted comedy.
This year, Dad’s Garage has partnered with Midtown Assistance Center to provide canned goods and feminine hygiene products to local families in need. Bring in one of the these items to get a $2 discount from your ticket purchase.
