New app designed to help Dragon Con attendees find love

A new app designed to help convention goers connect with other attendees is ready just in time for Dragon Con.

Convexion was conceived by Jared van Aalten, who also is responsible for the design of Atlanta Loop’s sibling website, Decaturish.

“Convexion is the first dating app for conventions, such as Dragon Con,” he said. “With Convexion, you can match exclusively with other con-goers. Dating at conventions can be fun and easy: Shop the dealer’s room, dance at a party, play in the game room, or just wait in line together for the next panel. Convexion also increases your dating safety. When you check-in to a convention on the app, you have to take a photo of your convention badge. When you see a matches’ badge photo, you know they can meet within the secured convention area. And if anything unfortunate does happen, the badge photo can help convention security quickly identify a person.”

He added, “I originally thought an app like this had to exist. If it did, it would be worth trying out. But when my searches for a convention dating app turned up no results, I figured I might as well build one. If it helps people enjoy their conventions, or even find true love, than Convexion is a success.”

The app is available on Android and iOS will be available soon.
