Fresh glimpses at Fetch, Old Fourth Ward’s forthcoming dog-park bar, restaurant
By Halloween, Atlanta’s first dog-park-bar-restaurant hybrid should be operating in the Old Fourth Ward. To an extent.
This week, Fetch Park and Ice House proprietors revealed a revised timeline (and jazzy new nighttime renderings) for the project, which will consume a blighted lot where Decatur Street meets Boulevard, basically in the shadow of elevated MARTA tracks.
Fetch’s first phase, scheduled to come off leash in late October, will consist of the dog-park component and a converted Airstream bar.
The rest of Fetch—Phase 2—should finish in January, business leaders say. That includes an indoor restaurant, dog-friendly patio, and a rooftop bar atop a converted shipping container.
Beyond the booze, amenities will include “free Wi-Fi throughout, TVs to catch the latest game, dog-washing stations, on-site ‘Bark Ranger’ park attendants, and cooling and heating stations,” per a press release.
Sorry, Cujo, but patrons will be asked to obey this disclaimer:
“Dogs must be spayed or neutered with a current vaccination record to enter the off-leash park and owners must sign a waiver stating their dog is not aggressive.”
In other news, Fetch heads announced they’re partnering with an Atlanta-based, ride-share startup called Lymousine to offer pooch-friendly rides to and from the Daniel Street restaurant.
A custom “PET” button on the app will ensure that Fetch-bound Atlantans won’t see drivers cancel rides or raise rates just because Fido wants to party, too.
