ATLANTA, GA — Fireworks will be going off all over Georgia during the long Fourth of July weekend. In some cases, the celebrations start July 1 in the Atlanta area.

Two years ago, Georgia lawmakers loosened the restrictions on what types of fireworks may be purchased and fired by residents. Now, bottle rockets, firecrackers, Roman candles and other fireworks are available for sale in the state, but cities or counties may impose their own limits on what hours you're allowed to shoot up the neighborhood, so it's best to check ahead of time.
