Here, we've mapped out a variety of our anti-IKEA favorites, where Atlantans can bag anything from rusty Americana kitsch to posh, Jonathan Adler sectionals costing north of $12,000. It's proof that Atlanta has no shortage of options, from boutiques to mega showrooms, for making most any room feel like home.

Keen on finding cabinetry or credenzas made from salvaged school lockers? Local art comprised of wax? A midcentury television cabinet? Quirky, fun-loving Kaboodle in the heart of the EAV is a good bet for decor that'll get your friends talking.

It's easy to get lost—in the most joyous way—in this sprawling compound of kitsch in a tucked-away section of Decatur near Your DeKalb Farmer's Market. Open for 35 years now, the 25,000-square-foot Kudzu (and its sister location in Sandy Springs) is more than antiques these days, with an emphasis on contemporary furniture that usually has rustic DNA.

For antique hounds on the hunt for that one sterling artifact to tie a room together, it's tough to go wrong with any proprietor at the Chamblee Antique Row District, billed as the South's biggest. But the largest, sometimes wackiest collection under a single roof probably belongs to Broad Street Antique Mall, a mainstay since 1979.

This multi-floor retailer debuted in a circa-1910 meatpacking building back in 2009, and it's consistently ranked among the top design destinations in Atlanta since. Room & Board specializes in approachable modern furnishings—often made in America—that usually aren't cheap but won't destroy credit scores either.

A popular destination for interior designers of Buckhead (and way beyond), this longstanding Bennett Street shop specializes in "architectural accents, decorative accessories, quality art, and country furnishings" that are typically high-end but always unique.

Designed and built more than a half-century ago by John Portman, ADAC (the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center) is the epicenter of interior design in the Southeast, offering more than 60 showrooms across 550,000 square feet. It's open to all design enthusiasts, provided they check in at the front desk.

Jonathan Adler pieces tend to have a distinct look that lands somewhere between timelessly glamorous and vintage chic. Like most offerings at The Shops Buckhead Atlanta, that panache doesn't always come cheap, as sofas can cost up to $7,500.

Standing for years in the Ellsworth Industrial Boulevard flank of Atlanta's Westside Design District (opposite of TopGolf), Horizon Home Furniture offers an expansive showroom of sometimes bizarre and almost always discounted furnishings gathered from around the globe.

DWR is decamping soon from its two-story Buckhead showroom for a Westside building that's three times larger, where designs by the likes of Charles and Ray Eames, George Nelson, and newer artists such as the Egg Collective should shine brighter.

Midcentury modern fanatics of Atlanta who haven't wandered City Issue are missing out. The too-cool Inman Park retailer, in business since 2000, specializes in pieces from the 1950s to early 1970s, most of which have been sourced from original owners on the East Coast. There's rarely a dud among these old pieces.
