Hotel could bring 140 rooms to Beltline along Irwin Street

The Beltline has brought about the renaissance of neighborhoods around Atlanta — most notably so far along the Eastside Trail, with places like Old Fourth Ward and Krog Street becoming destinations every Atlantan knows.
While the neighborhoods have risen — with housing prices going through the roof and restaurants that draw crowds from places OTP — there's notably been little in the way of accommodations for out-of-towners. But that could soon change.
BisNow reports that the hotel planned to sit adjacent to the Beltline, a block away from Krog Street Market, is now moving forward. Permits have been filed for the Studioplex site to add a 140-room boutique hotel to rise seven stories above the surroundings.
The hotel should fit into the ultra-hip neighborhood, with amenities including a rooftop bar, "European -style piazza," film screening room, and two restaurants (in roughly 4,000 square feet, fronting Irwin Street). In January, developers told the Atlanta Business Chronicle they hoped to break ground this spring — and open in time for busy Labor Day weekend 2017 — but it sounds like things are running behind that schedule.
