Yoni and I got married this past September, and it’s been a whirlwind of a time since we got married. We had been living in Buckhead for many years, and were ready to buy a house, as a place to grow into and as an investment piece. As an art director, I had plans to move to New York City before Yoni “trapped me” in Atlanta as he says. To make me feel more at home in Atlanta, Yoni agreed to move to a more creative part of town, that would be “my Brooklyn,” a.k.a. anywhere walking distance to Ponce City Market, Krog Street Market, or the Atlanta Dairies. And Yoni who works in real estate and has flipped properties before of course was excited for the potential investment and being walking distance to his favorite shawarma in town.
We had a long list of requirements for Debbie and Jeff. We were very adamant on location. Wanted a renovation project (or if it was renovated, it had to be to our taste). Preferably an older home with original hardwoods and lots of character. Needed to have off-street parking and room to build a garage (especially hard ask in the areas we were looking). At least 3 bedroom. Bigger than our current apartment. Preferably a basement. The list goes on. Debbie showed us tons of homes, and was amazing the whole time – previewing homes ahead of us so we didn’t have to travel across town. Jeff also helped show us homes and understand the structural issues or lack there of for the 1920s homes we were looking at.
We’re both very picky and opinionated and weren’t going to be happy with just any house, and through it all, we actually did find our dream home. We are so thankful for the expertise, time, and friendship that Debbie and Jeff have shown us throughout this house buying process, and know how happy we’ll be in our home for years to come.
Thanks, Debbie and Jeff and Raw Real Estate!
